THE BASE OF OUR BREEDING
Belle Amie -S
The foundation of breeding was laid by Van Straaten Sr. in the late 1960s, with the purchase of the Uron mare Isabelle.
The Farn offspring Tivonne was purchased in the early 1990s and is now at the basis of a successful family.
One of the Dutch performance damlines that survives all Van Straaten’s strict selections is the Koteusi line.
The Lottie/Zottie damline is a well-known Dutch performance damline. The Van Straaten family started this breeding with the Ronald mare Alabama.
The Holsteiner lineage 173 has a fantastic figurehead in the influential top progenitor Capitol I. As a two-year-old, the genetically high-quality Corland mare Pracht-S was purchased.
Due to the anchored jumping ability, the Holsteiner lineage 6893 crossed the path of the Van Straaten family.
The third Holsteiner damline that has been successfully used for show jumping breeding by the Van Straaten family is no. 890, reknown for producing stallions like Berlin, Casall and Elmshorn.
THIS IS WHAT WE DO
Every year the Van Straaten family breeds around 25 foals from several prominent damlines. The strict selection based on health, attitude and quality, generates fruitful results.
Because the homebred horses are also trained up to international level by the Van Straaten family themselves, there is a lot of insight into the attitude, quality and hardness of these horses.
